STUNNING model Tiffany Stanley is pictured having a bit of gas local with taxi drivers Trevor Reddy and James Duggan at last week’s launch of the Gaspro United autogas conversion and filling centre at Jamestown Business Park, Jamestown Road, Finglas.
Gaspro converts cars from petrol to autogas, which can help slash fuel costs in half. And hard pressed taxi drivers who have been struggling to cope with spiralling petrol costs over the past year are queuing up to make the switch.
Trevor Reddy of Limo17.com in Ratoath says he’s already making some big savings after changing over.
“I’ve now converted three vehicles, including my wife’s car, to autogas and I’ve really noticed the reduced running costs,
? he said.
“A 320 mile journey now only costs me about e70.00 so I’m very pleased with the result.
?
James Duggan from Finglas has also converted his taxi.
“There’s been no change in performance or handling at all since I converted my own car and I’m delighted with the savings I’m making,
? he said.
“I had a car years ago that ran on autogas so I’m pleased to be driving on gas again.
?
Gaspro United operates an autogas filling station on-site. Cars run on autogas are popular throughout Europe so when Gaspro owner Renatas Seputis came to Ireland from Lithuania, he saw an opportunity to set up a conversion business here.
Renatas and his technical team have significant experience and training in the latest autogas conversion systems and have worked in this area in Europe for many years.
“Converting a small to medium car costs e1,250 including VAT and a larger car costs around e1,500,
? he said.
“Drivers doing a lot of mileage will recoup this cost in a matter of months. Autogas also greatly reduces harmful emissions from your car so it’s good for the environment as well.
?
Autogas is currently used in more than 13 million vehicles worldwide. As well as being cheaper than petrol or diesel, supporters say it generates considerably fewer emissions than fossil fuels, contributing to the protection of the environment and human health while also mitigating the threat of climate change.
