IRISH
dental group, Smiles, has announced the opening of its latest Dublin outlet in
Dundrum which will create 12 local jobs.
The
Southside outlet is the group’s 16th in Ireland and the new jobs bring the
total number of positions announced by Smiles to over 50 this year.
Situated
on Sandyford Road in Dundrum Town Centre, the 1,400 sq ft state-of-the-art
premises comprises four fully-equipped surgeries. The clinic will offer a full
complement of general dental treatments to customers, ranging from check-ups,
cleaning, polishing, and fillings, to orthodontics and dental implants.
Having
already opened three clinics this year, including its first outlet in Northern
Ireland, group chief executive, Emmet O’Neill said they were delighted to
announce the further expansion of its business.
“This
investment of
?¬250,000 re-affirms our commitment to delivering a premium,
value-driven service to Smiles’ clients,
? he said.
“The
large number of job losses that have been recently announced across the country
is evidence that Irish businesses are continuing to experience unprecedented
difficulties.
“We are
therefore delighted to be able to expand our business in a manner that not only
creates employment but also allows us to continue to deliver Northern Irish
prices in Southern locations.
?
“Notwithstanding
the plight of unemployment that is currently sweeping across the island, we, at
Smiles Dental, have been struggling to fill roles as many younger people are
leaving the country out of economic necessity.
“This is
an issue that needs to be immediately addressed in an effort to retain bright
graduates in Ireland.
