THE Mater
Hospital’s public car park on Eccles Street has been closed and a new shuttle
bus service introduced to facilitate the development of a new campus.
A new car park
with 444 permanent spaces is due to open next spring and a free shuttle bus
service to the hospital’s main entrance is now operating from selected local
pick-up points.
The service runs
every 15 minutes from Monday to Friday between 8am-5pm inclusive. The first
pick up point is at Q-Park car park on Marlborough Street and the bus also
stops at Parnell Street opposite the Rotunda Hospital before proceeding to
Wellington Street car park and onto the Mater.
The hospital is
also reminding patients and their families that there’s a designated set down
area immediately outside the hospital entrance for anybody who wants to be
dropped off by car or taxi.
Information on
this shuttle service, alternative parking arrangements and other related
transport information is available on the hospital’s website at mater.ie.
