Netflix announced today that U2 will headline the halftime show of the NFL’s first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game, live from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Wednesday, November 25.

The performance arrives as U2 celebrates 50 years as a band since forming in Dublin in 1976, adding a milestone moment to the primetime matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Los Angeles Rams.

U2’s Thanksgiving Eve set follows one of the most memorable moments in Super Bowl history: the band’s Super Bowl XXXVI halftime show in February 2002.

Nearly a quarter-century later, U2 returns to a Rams home game – this time streaming to Netflix’s members around the world.

U2’s performance continues a tradition of marquee halftime entertainment on Netflix’s NFL broadcasts.

Netflix’s first Christmas Gameday in 2024 featured international superstar Beyoncé at halftime of the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game, in the four-time Emmy-nominated Beyoncé Bowl.

Last year, Snoop Dogg brought Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party to the Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings Christmas Day game. U2’s halftime show will be produced by Jesse Collins Entertainment.

“There’s a reason U2 has headlined stadiums for decades: they don’t just perform, they deliver iconic moments audiences remember forever,” said Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix.

“We’re thrilled that they’ll bring that same magic to the NFL stage on Netflix. It’s going to be an unforgettable night for football fans and Netflix members worldwide.”

Netflix kicked off its 2026 season with the NFL’s first-ever regular season game in Australia featuring the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Los Angeles Rams, and the season continues with NFL Thanksgiving Eve presented by American Express; a Christmas Gameday doubleheader on Dec. 25 at 1:00 p.m. ET and 4:30 p.m. ET (Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears, followed by Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos); and a Week 18 matchup on Jan. 9 at 1:00 p.m. ET, the final weekend of the regular season.

Last year, Netflix’s Christmas Day broadcast of the Lions vs. Vikings was the most-streamed NFL regular season game in U.S. history.
