Dublin City Council has announced that it has installed a further 24 cycle-lockers of different types in the city-centre as part of a pilot project being supported by the National Transport Authority.
This is in addition to the 12 lockers installed earlier this year on Capel Street and Grafton St.
These lockers are intended for short-term use, enabling visitors to securely park their bikes for a few hours while they socialise, shop, dine, or visit the city-centre’s many attractions.
These lockers are different to the Bike Bunkers that are being rolled out separately to provide secure cycle parking in residential areas.
There are now:
-6 lockers on Capel St
-6 lockers on Grafton St
-12 lockers in Jervis St Car Park
-12 lockers in Drury St Car Park
Over the next 12 months, Dublin City Council, with the assistance of Bleeper who are managing the trial on our behalf, will monitor how the different types of lockers and Apps perform and the level of demand for this type of service.

“This pilot will help us understand where lockers are most effective and how people use them, shaping future cycling infrastructure that is practical, reliable and supports more people to feel confident cycling into the city for short trips.”
