Iarnród Éireann has reminded customers that a revised timetable will be in place this May Bank Holiday weekend on all routes.
Customers are advised to check times before travel from Saturday, 2nd May to Bank Holiday Monday, 4th May inclusive for revised schedules, at www.irishrail.ie or at the Iarnród Éireann app.
Rail service arrangements
Revised train times will be in place on all routes, please check times before travel at www.irishrail.ie or the Iarnród Éireann app. In particular, please note the following major works.
Connolly to Drogheda / Howth works at multiple sites, Sat 2nd to Mon 4th May
A range of major works are taking place, including:
- Renewal of points and crossings at Malahide
- Renewal of track between Killester and Harmonstown
- Renewal of overhead line between Howth and Howth Junction
- Platform accessibility improvements at Malahide and Portmarnock
- Track works between Malahide and Drogheda
Due to these planned works at multiple sites, scheduled as part of our maintenance programme since late 2025, customers are advised:
- DART: DART services are suspended between Connolly and Howth / Malahide. Leapcard can be used on all TFI services operating to/from areas affected. DART services are operating between Connolly and Greystones.
- Dublin to Drogheda Northern Commuter: Northern Commuter services are suspended. A limited bus transfer service will operate from Drogheda to Dublin Connolly, serving Balbriggan and Donabate en route, and from Skerries to Dublin Connolly, serving Rush and Lusk en route. - Dublin to Belfast: Bus transfers will operate between Dublin and Drogheda, to a revised timetable. Full details are at irishrail.ie and the Iarnród Éireann app.
Extra services for Leinster v Toulon and Dublin City Half Marathon
Extra services will operate as follows:
- Extra DARTs will operate on Saturday 2nd May between Connolly and Bray / Greystones before and after Leinster v Toulon Champions Cup Semi-Final. At full time, from 16:20hrs to 18:15hrs, Grand Canal Dock Station will be closed as part of event crowd management arrangements
- Extra DART and Commuter services will operate before the Dublin City Half Marathon on Sunday 3rd May as follows:
- o 06:25hrs Kildare to Dublin Connolly, serving all stations to Park West, Drumcondra and Connolly.
- o 06:50hrs Maynooth to Dublin Connolly, serving all stations.
- o 06:50hrs Greystones to Dublin Connolly, serving all stations.
Other Bank Holiday arrangements
Customers travelling on other routes should check times for Bank Holiday service alterations across the weekend at www.irishrail.ie or the Iarnród Éireann app.
In particular, customers are asked to note that and Commuter and southside DART services will operate to a Sunday schedule on Bank Holiday Monday 4th May.
