Huge TG4 audience for Dublin’s All-Ireland win

Dublin’s All-Ireland Ladies Football victory over Meath on August 3 helped deliver a major audience for TG4, with nearly half a million people tuning in to the broadcaster’s Finals Day coverage.

The 2025 TG4 All-Ireland Ladies Football Championship Finals attracted the second-highest Croke Park crowd since 2019, when 56,114 fans attended the Dublin versus Galway final.

TG4, which has been the official broadcaster and title sponsor of the championship since 2001, showed all three games — junior, intermediate, and senior — live and free-to-air in Ireland and worldwide.

According to official TAM Ireland/Nielsen figures, the senior final between Dublin and Meath averaged 172,500 viewers, a 16 percent increase on last year’s senior final.

The match took a 27.3 percent share of the viewing audience, making TG4 the most-watched channel in Ireland during the game.

Viewership peaked at 5.43pm as Dublin closed in on victory to reclaim the Brendan Martin Cup for the first time since 2023.

In total, TG4’s coverage of the finals reached 490,000 viewers on the day.

TG4 also reported a 37 percent increase in live streams across the three finals compared to 2024, highlighting the growing demand for live sport online.

On social media, Sport TG4’s platforms received over 3.4 million views during finals week.

One clip, Nicole Owens’ goal for Dublin, attracted 120,000 views within 24 hours of being posted on Instagram.
