Although there’s still plenty of time to finalise projects, schools who register for the 11th annual Dare to Believe PExpo ’25 before Friday January 31 can still avail of the 15% off ‘early bird’ entry fee.

Dare to Believe PExpo ’25  takes place on Thursday April 10, at the National Indoor Arena in Abbottstown and schools from all over the country have already registered their interest.

The exhibition is well established as a fun day out and after  their projects are assessed, students can mingle with stars of the Irish Olympic team, and try out a variety of sports, courtesy of School Fitness Ireland, Orienteering Ireland, HerMoves, Bar Monkey Calisthenics, Hockey Ireland, Target Shooting Ireland, Volleyball Ireland, Judo Ireland, Boxing Ireland, Pitch and Putt Ireland and The Kick Company.

A high standard of project covering a wide variety of topics is expected. At last year’s PExpo, when entries came from all four provinces and Northern Ireland for the first time, Aoife O’Keefe, Molly Collins and, Faithleann Sommers from St Brigid’s Presentation School, Killarney took the top senior award for ‘Sport Behind Bars’ their comprehensive study of the beneficial effect of sport on prisoners.

Other notable projects last year included  ‘Escape the Vape —Effects of Vaping on Young Lungs’, ‘Strikesock 360’, ‘Oppression in Sport (a History)’, ‘Toxic Positivity in Sport’, ‘From the Crossroads to Croke Park’,  ‘Own your Cycle, Own your Game’, ‘Biobanding and Promoting Athlete Development’,  and ‘Breaking Point —Unravelling Stress in Sports’.

A significent number of projects dealt with the problems faced by women and girls who wish to take up sport and keep fit.
