Witness appeal in relation to a fatal incident at Junction 6, M50 Southbound

Gardaí say they are appealing for witnesses to a fatal incident which occurred at Junction 6 on the M50 southbound at Castleknock, on Sunday (14th) at approximately 8.15pm.

A man aged in his 30’s was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The body was later removed to the mortuary at Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown.

No other injuries to persons have been reported.

The scene was preserved and a technical examination was carried by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

A Garda spokesperson said:

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area of Junction 6 of the M50, Castleknock, Dublin 15, between 7.30pm and 8.30pm on Sunday 14th January 2024 are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Blanchardstown Garda Station on 01 666 7000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.

“Gardaí are aware that images and video of this incident are being shared on social media and messaging applications.

“Gardaí are appealing to the public not to share any of this material, if received, out of respect for the privacy of the deceased and their family and friends.”
