The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Alison Gilliland has opened a Book of Condolence for the people of Dublin to extend their sympathies to the family of Ashling Murphy.
Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the Book of Condolence will be available to sign online and will be open from today, Friday the 14th, until Friday the 21st of January.
All messages of sympathy will be printed and forwarded in the Book of Condolence to the family of Ashling Murphy.
Lord Mayor, Alison Gilliland said:
“I was extremely shocked and saddened by the senseless loss of Ashling Murphy.
“On behalf of the people of Dublin, I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathies to her family, friends, colleagues and those she taught, at this awful time.
“Ashling will be remembered by those who knew her as a wonderful teacher, talented musician and active member of her community.
“As a society, it is our duty to help build a zero tolerance policy and practice towards gender-based violence. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.”
