The household bulky waste collection service is to be reintroduced in Dublin following the passing of a motion as part of Dublin City Council’s 2022 budget.
Councillor Deirdre Heney, Fianna Fáil group leader, the party who tabled the motion, said: “That the reintroduction of the free household bulky waste collection means that householders will be again provided with a service by Dublin City Council to properly dispose of bulky household items of waste.
“It will bring about a reduction of the regrettable but continued illegal dumping of waste in many parts of our city,” she says.
Heney says that the the council “currently uses up a lot of resources collecting illegally dumped materials throughout the city on a continuing basis, particularly around Halloween.
“The welcome reintroduction of the service to households to have bulky waste items collected will contribute to seriously addressing this problem.”
