Ireland’s first humanoid robot arrives at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre

Visitors to one Dublin shopping centre are set for an exciting glimpse into the future this weekend.

That’s because they’ll come face to face with the world’s first humanoid robot as it goes about its first day at work.

Meet Pepper, the cute robot ready to give customers at Blanchardstown Centre a spooktacular experience this Halloween.

Standing at 120 cm tall, Pepper is equipped with a camera and sensors which enables it to engage with customers through conversation and can even recognise faces and basic human emotions.

Lunar Media, a top Digital & Technology Company, have brought Pepper robots to Ireland and believe they will be a great asset to retail and shopping centre environments.

The Dublin based company is delighted to announce that Pepper will be making its Irish debut at Blanchardstown Centre this Saturday, October 30.

Little Halloween characters will be able to have fun chats with Pepper, learn its cute dance moves and take their very own selfie with Ireland’s first humanoid Robot.

Pepper will be having a ‘Meet & Greet’ with young families between 2 pm and 5 pm, at their Halloween Display which is located on Level 2 of the Centre.

Not only does Pepper help customers with their general needs but his key software means he can also collect customer feedback, carry out surveys and give detailed map locations.

As Ireland is now a multicultural country, it’s great that Pepper can also be adapted to speak up to 21 languages.

Head of Marketing and Communications at Blanchardstown Centre, Kim McNulty, said they can’t wait for customers to meet Pepper:

“Here at Blanchardstown Centre, we are so excited to be the first hosts for Pepper and introduce him to our customers in a really fun and interactive way.

“Along with celebrating our 25th birthday we have recently undergone a fabulous redevelopment and believe Pepper fully promotes our new brand, which is looking towards a positive future and ties fully into our belief that you can ‘Be what you want to Be’ at Blanchardstown Centre.”

Meanwhile, Director of Lunar Media, Edward Lam, said: “We are very excited to be bringing Ireland’s first humanoid robot to Ireland.

“Pepper the Robot will no doubt revolutionise the shopping experience of customers.”

So dust off your broomsticks and join Pepper at Blanchardstown Centre this Halloween.
