An Garda Síochána Special Investigations Unit, who are conducting an ongoing investigation surrounding the activities of Insurance “Ghost Brokers” involved in fraudulently obtaining Motor Insurance Policies within this jurisdiction, have this morning arrested three people, (two men in their 40s and one woman in her 40s).
All three people have been charged in relation to this investigation and are due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court this morning at 10.30am.
A garda spokesperson said:
“Special Investigations Unit, DMR Roads Policing Division has worked closely with a number of Insurance Companies over the past number of years and as a direct result of this investigation, in excess of 2,500 Motor Insurance Policies have been identified as fraudulently obtained Motor Insurance Policies through Ghost Broking activities.”
