Dublin City Council has announced final call for nominations for the Lord Mayor’s Youth Awards 2021.
The Lord Mayor’s Youth Awards celebrate outstanding young people between five and 18 years of age who have portrayed resilience and leadership during Covid-19.
The deadline to submit nominations is tomorrow, Wednesday, April 21 with the winners being announced via webinars on April 29.
In a statement, Dublin City Council said: “The Lord Mayor’s Youth Awards are Dublin City Council’s way of acknowledging and congratulating the extraordinary work and resilience shown by its young citizens.
“Five awards will be presented to children in the primary school age group (ages five to 12 years of age) and five awards will be presented to young adults from the secondary school age group (13 to 18 years of age).”
Prizes for the winners include a sculpture designed by Stephanie Hess, a scroll from the Lord Mayor Hazel Chu, and a €100 One4All voucher.
The class of the winning child will each get a Lord Mayor’s scroll, too.
“The winners will be announced at the Lord Mayor Youth Awards webinars on Thursday, April 29th, 2021.
“The first webinar, from 10am – 10:45am, will focus on the primary school children.
“The afternoon webinar, 2pm – 3pm will announce the secondary school winners.
“These webinars will also give a platform to Dublin’s youth to share their experiences and learnings from the last year.”
