New study reveals the most popular parks in Dublin 

THE Maldron Hotel Smithfield ran a study recently to find the most instagrammed parks in the city and ranked their popularity in numbers of hashtags..What’s your favourite?

1 – Phoenix Park (211,006 pictures) 

It’s no surprise that the expansive Phoenix Park is not only a leading tourist attraction but also the most popular Dublin park on Instagram, with 211,006 hashtags. There are endless outdoor activities that you can enjoy here. Known as Dublin’s Green Lung, Phoenix Park offers a range of activities such as inline skating, cycling, orienteering, and more. If you’d prefer to relax, there are areas designated for picnics and barbecues as well. One of the key attractions of the park is its wild deer! 

 2 – St Stephen’s Green Park (52,565 pictures) 

A Victorian park located on Grafton Street, St Stephen’s Green is one of the loveliest sites in the capital. It is also extremely instagrammable, with 52,565 hashtags. The park is ideal for those looking to delve into Irish history, featuring several statues of some of Ireland’s famous politicians and literary artists. This place will give you a glance into Irish history as well as being a lovely spot to relax and enjoy nature. 

3 – Marlay Park (24,406 pictures) 

With everything from woodlands and waterfalls to a tennis court and a golf course, Marlay Park comes in third on our list with 24,406 hashtags. Dating back to the eighteenth century, the park finds its origins in the Marlay demesne. Aside from its lush green landscape, the park is also famous for sports including cricket, golf, soccer, and more. It is also a popular spot for musical concerts featuring both national and international performers. 

4 – Killiney Hill Park (24,406 pictures) 

Formerly called Victoria Hill, the Killiney Hill Park is yet another delightful location in Dublin and is celebrated with 21,116 hashtags on Instagram. Located in the southernmost part of the capital, the park offers some stunning views of green landscapes. Visitors can enjoy the endless forest trails amid its lush surroundings. This park is popular among hikers looking to climb the surrounding hilly terrain, and you’ll also find a playground for the kids, along with a tearoom. 

5 – Merrion Square (21,116 pictures) 

A park dedicated to one of the greatest literary luminaries of Ireland, Merrion Square, celebrates Oscar Wilde. The park is sure to delight all Oscar Wilde fans with its distinct scriptures and statues. Apart from Wilde’s statues, you will find various peculiar objects in the park that relate to Irish history. Features like the collection of old streetlamps at Merrion Square make it very insta-worthy, explaining its 21,1116 hashtags.
