DCRT seize over €500,000 in cannabis in operation targeting organised crime

As part of ongoing investigations targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs across the Dublin Region, the Dublin Crime Response Team seized cannabis herb valued at over €500,000 (analysis pending) during an operation on Saturday (21st).

A Garda spokesperson said:

“During the operation, a van was intercepted and stopped in the Swords area of North Dublin.

“Upon searching the vehicle, Gardaí discovered cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €500,000.

“The sole occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene.

“He is currently being detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in the Dublin Region.

“Investigations are ongoing and further updates will follow.”
