Yesterday, Monday 29th September, Gardaí arrested a man, and seized a handgun and ammunition, along with €23,000 of suspected illegal cocaine, during a search of a residence in the Dublin 8 area.
During the course of the search under warrant, Gardaí from the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) South Central Divisional Crime Taskforce recovered a Glock handgun and ammunition. Cocaine with an approximate value of €23,000, weaponry and drugs paraphernalia were also seized.
The firearm was forwarded for technical examination by the Ballistics Section of the Garda Technical Bureau.
The drugs seized are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

A man (aged in his 30’s) was arrested at the scene. He has since been charged, and is expected to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice (CCJ) this afternoon, Tuesday 30th September.
Investigations are ongoing.
