Would you like to help children at a local special school continue to receive the best possible start in life?
Ballyowen Meadows Special School is calling on the community to help support their small school this Christmas by buying a raffle ticket at www.idonate.ie/raffle/BallyowenMeadows
The school supports 54 autistic children with an intellectual disability to reach their potential.
Diarmuid Murrihy, whose six-year-old son attends Ballyowen Meadows, explained to Southside People how vitally important the school is.
“I don’t know what we’d do without Ballyowen Meadows,” he said.
“Our wonderful little boy is thriving here.
“He’s so happy, and the staff go out of their way to celebrate him just as he is.
“He’s beautifully different and it’s clear they really value that.
“I know he feels this and it sets him up everyday to achieve so much.
“With their support my son has the same opportunity as every other child to reach his academic potential.
“He’s given every chance to develop his many unique strengths.
“He’s absolutely flying it and we’re so excited for his future.
“The heart of the teachers and SNA’s is really appreciated and valued by us.”
The raffle is supported by a number of businesses who have donated all the prizes. These include Whelehans, Dunnes Stores, The Sensory House, The Canvas Works, Lidl, Sculpted by Aimee, Mink, and Kilruddery.
