Casting director to be honoured with Underground Cinema award

The 15th Underground Cinema Awards will honour casting director Frank Moiselle with the John Boorman Special Achievement Award.
The awards will honour Moiselle at a ceremony in Dún Laoghaire in November.
Moiselle began his career as a Casting Assistant to Nuala Moiselle on John Huston’s feature film adaptation of James Joyce’s The Dead.
Since then, Moiselle has gone on to work with some of the most acclaimed directors in the film industry, including Jim Sheridan (The Secret Scripture, In America,), Joel Schumacher (Veronica Guerin), Gillies MacKinnon (Tara Road) and Neil Jordan (Ondine).
Moiselle has been nominated for three Emmys for his work in the television industry, with shows such as The Tudors, Penny Dreadful and Vikings among his major credits.
The John Boorman Special Achievement Award is presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to the film industry, and Frank Moiselle’s career exemplifies this distinction. Previous recipients of the award include director Paddy Slattery, producer Cormac Fox, cinematographer Seamus Deasy, and actor Patrick Bergin.
“We are incredibly honored to present Frank Moiselle with the John Boorman Special Achievement Award,” said Dave Byrne, Director at Underground Cinema.
