Motability Ireland was awarded the prestigious ‘Independent Retailer of the Year’ accolade at the 2012 SIMI Irish Motor Industry Awards which were held at the Burlington Hotel recently.

RTE’s Des Cahill, MC on the night, presented Malachy McElmeel (MD) with the award in front of an impressive gathering of SIMI members and special guests including soccer legend Ronnie Whelan.

Based in Ashbourne Co Meath, the company manufactures car adaptations for disabled drivers and passengers. It is the country’s leading supplier of wheelchair accessible vehicles for sale and hire.

The company was acknowledged for their innovative development of vehicle solutions to cater for the disabled and for their extensive research and development programme that aims to continuously improve the standard of care given to disabled drivers and passengers.
